The Pollution Liability Insurance Agency (PLIA) invites the public to comment. This is a proposal to remove the Sandy’s Chevron (Site) from the Department of Ecology’s Hazardous Sites List pursuant to WAC 173-340-330(10).

An underground storage tank (UST) on the site leaked gasoline into the soil and groundwater. The polluted soil and associated USTs were removed.

PLIA performed regulatory review of the Site under the Petroleum Technical Assistance Program (PTAP). PLIA had been actively involved in the planning, implementation and review of this cleanup. Based on the Site review and groundwater monitoring results, PLIA determined that the Site meets the substantive requirements of the Model Toxics Control Act. The Site no longer poses a threat to human health or the environment.
