The Pollution Liability Insurance Agency (PLIA) invites public comment on the proposed petition for removal of the Mandl Holdings Trust site (Site) from the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Hazardous Sites List.

An underground storage tank located on the site leaked diesel into the soil. The property owners removed the tank and polluted soil, and installed a monitoring system in 2007. From 2017-2018, the property owners completed additional confirmation sampling and performance monitoring and requested regulatory oversight from PLIA under the Petroleum Technical Assistance Program. PLIA has reviewed the site data, including monitoring logs, and has determined that the cleanup is complete and the Site no longer represents a threat to human health or the environment. PLIA has recommended that the site owner petition the Department of Ecology for removal of the site from the Hazardous Sites List.
